Sixth International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Information Systems

The six International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Information System, organized by the faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, December 14-16, 2013. In addition the volume contains the proceedings of the three international workshops, held in the frame of conference; namely: Artificial intelligent technology for spatial Risk Prediction, Intelligent e-Learning and Bio-Medical Informatics and e-Health.

The Call for papers of ICICIS 2013, required original contributions regarding the development of theory, techniques, and applications in the fields of intelligent computing and intelligent information system. Contribution to intelligent computing included presentation of the intelligent technique and methodologies potentially useful in solving problem in different fields. Papers on intelligent information system described the integration of AI and database technologies. Application papers described the implementation of Intelligent Systems to solve significant problems.

The call resulted in 80 submissions, covering the areas of; fuzzy sets, rough sets, genetic algorithms, neural nets, data mining and knowledge discovery, expert system, information storage and retrieval, web-based learning, medical informatics and other. All papers were carefully reviewed by at least two referees belonging to the program committee.  ICICIS 2013 accepted 19 papers with 48.7% acceptance rate. The conference proceedings contain 51 papers including 31 papers as workshops’ publications. In addition, the volume contains nine keynote lectures written by distinguished invited speakers from Germany, England, Latvia, Belgium, Romania and Bulgaria.
